H.E. Ms. Razan Samih Al-Shafie
H.E. Ms. Razan Samih Al-Shafie officially assumed her duties as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Securities Commission on March 1, 2026. She is an executive expert in sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), with more than fifteen years of professional experience across the legal, banking, energy, and development sectors. She has distinguished expertise in developing and implementing corporate sustainability strategies, strengthening governance frameworks, and leading climate transition initiatives in line with international standards. She also has a proven track record in managing circular economy programs and regional partnerships that enhance institutional leadership in sustainability.
She previously served as Head of Sustainability and Environmental Governance at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Global Environmental Sustainability Projects Manager at Eversheds Sutherland, and Projects Manager at the Petroleum Products Storage Company. She also contributed to the development of investment projects at Aqaba Development Corporation.
Ms. Al-Shafie holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business Management from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. She also earned a Master of Management with a concentration in Project Management from Strayer University, Florida, USA, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Strayer University. In addition, she holds a Diploma in International Business Administration from Orlando, Florida.
Her core competencies include the development and implementation of sustainability strategies, climate risk management and environmental governance, preparation of international ESG reports, sustainable finance and green bonds, strategic project management, corporate governance and policy development, carbon emissions management, and environmental and regulatory compliance.
