Jordan Securities Commission Meets Officers from the Royal Air Defense School

Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) received at its headquarters a delegation from the Royal Air Defense School. The delegation consisted of a number of School Officers & guests from a number of Arab countries. The delegation was briefed on & acknowledged with the responsibilities of (JSC) supervisory system & with legislative developments in capital market institutions. This field visit comes within a training curriculum of an advanced course to Air Defense No. 19.
When the meeting commenced, (JSC) Executive Manager Mr. Waleed Kerallah welcomed the delegation & emphasized (JSC) strategy in receiving all sectors of the community as a step to enhance the culture of investment in Jordanian securities.  Mr. Kerallah stressed the appreciation of (JSC), capital market institutions & their staff of the role performed by the armed forces & security apparatuses. As well as, citizens satisfaction of developments made by them in terms of their efficiency, staff & concern in spreading culture & knowledge. Mr. Kerallah also indicated that the armed forces & security apparatuses are the pillar of continuous economic development & development cannot be achieved without security.
Director of the Research & International Affairs Department at (JSC) Mr. Mazen Al-Wathaifi summarized the role of (JSC) & its program to achieve objectives to provide a secure investment environment for trading at the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). Mr. Al-Wathaifi, emphasized areas to protect investors & dealers in the capital market via implementing legislations regulating the securities market, enhancing professional capacity of supervisory systems & of corporate governance. As well as, daily surveillance on trading at (ASE) to ensure transparency & enhance the concept of disclosure to provide investors with necessary information to take investment decisions.
Deputy Executive Manager of (ASE) Mr. Nader Azzer presented a history on Jordan capital market & latest legislative, technological & quantitative developments witnessed in the market. Mr. Azzer provided in detail the role of (ASE) in attracting savings to the national economy via securing the market to guarantee the efficiency of trading in securities to enhance investment in Jordanian securities. Mr. Azzer also briefed the delegation on the new Electronic Trading System launched recently by (ASE).
Deputy Executive Manager of the Securities Depository Center (SDC) Mr. Khalil Nasser provided in detail (SDC) businesses, responsibilities & infrastructure of Jordan capital market. Mr. Nasser also provided details on (SDC) establishment, its objectives, its diversified responsibilities such as, securities keeping, depositing, ownership transfer, procedures of clearance & settlement of executed trading contracts at the (ASE) on the bases of delivery versus payment; considered one of the key applied standards in capital markets.        
At the end of the meeting, Royal Air Defense Officers indicated their appreciation to capital market institutions for holding such a distinguished meeting, for the provided valuable information, for (JSC) continuous concern to hold annual meetings for all sectors whether military or civil & for its efforts to enhance the culture of investment.
