Jordan participates in the tenth meeting of the Federation of Arab Securities Authorities

Mr. Muhammad Saleh Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Jordan Securities Commission, represented Jordan, participated in the tenth meeting of the Federation of Arab Securities Authorities, which was held in Cairo on the third of this March, with the participation of 12 Arab countries.
 Among the most important topics discussed during the meeting were the board members’ adoption of the initiatives of the strategic plan for the years 2016-2020. The relationship of the bodies with the entities subject to them and the patterns of regulatory legislation and its enforcement were also discussed. The meeting also discussed initiatives to develop market infrastructure and enhance transparency and disclosure requirements.
 Al-Hourani praised the role played by the union in building bridges and consolidating the links between the bodies and in exchanging experiences regarding the issues of the Arab financial markets.
 He praised the achievements made by the Union at various levels, foremost of which is the establishment of organizational and technical structures for the staff of the General Secretariat, and its vital role in developing Arab stock markets, enhancing levels of transparency and efficiency and consolidating an investment culture.
 It is noteworthy that the Federation of Arab Securities Authorities was established in 2007 in Abu Dhabi and currently includes in its membership 15 Arab countries, in addition to three associate members and the Arab Monetary Fund as an observer member.
