Jordan Securities Commission and Princess Sumaya University for Technology Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Mutual Cooperation

Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) and the Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, 30 March 2026, aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation and enhancing integration between the academic and regulatory sectors.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of PSUT by its President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and on behalf of the JSC by its Chairman, Mr. Emad Abu Haltam, in the presence of Commissioners Dr. Mohamed Jaradat, Mrs. Razan Al Shafei, and representatives from both parties.
The Chairman of the Jordan Securities Commission, Mr. Emad Abu Haltam, commended the outstanding capabilities of the university’s professors in the field of technology. He noted that the Commission aligns with the Economic Modernization Vision, which focuses on digital transformation alongside legislative development. This requires continuous enhancement of the technological systems used in the Commission’s supervisory operations to ensure investor protection and encourage investment by providing a secure environment across all stages of the investment process whether in the local financial market, foreign stock exchanges, or virtual asset trading.
For her part, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija stated that this cooperation comes within the framework of strengthening integration between the academic sector and regulatory entities. She noted that both parties have agreed to launch a set of joint initiatives aimed at developing the financial supervisory system and enhancing innovation in capital markets, in line with the rapid changes in the financial sector both locally and globally.
Prof. Abu Elhaija also emphasized the university’s commitment to implementing the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, by enhancing collaboration between academia and regulatory and supervisory institutions, supporting innovation, and empowering students in the fields of financial technology and capital markets.
This Memorandum, which is the second of its kind between PSUT and the JSC, includes organizing training lectures for students in areas related to financial markets. It also provides for the development of a specialized program that enables university students to present innovative financial ideas particularly in financial technologyand to receive support in developing these ideas. In addition, the Memorandum covers technical and technological cooperation between specialists from both parties.
The cooperation highlighted working on developing high- level designs for advanced systems that support regulatory functions, monitoring trading in foreign stock exchanges, and developin specialized supervisory tools in the field of virtual assets. This aims to enhance the efficiency of financial supervisory and improve analytical and decision- making capabilities.
