Amendment to the Rules for Handling Dormant Accounts of Financial Brokerage Clients

The Board of Commissioners of the Jordan Securities Commission decided on August 13, 2025, to amend the rules for handling dormant accounts of financial brokerage clients by amending Article (3) of the applicable rules, effective September 1, 2025. The new amendment to the article stipulates the following:

A. A client's account shall be considered dormant if three years have passed since the date of the last transaction on the account, with the exception of accounts whose data has been updated in the center's database before the expiry of this period, in accordance with the mechanism and procedure followed by the center for this purpose.

B. The calculation of the periods referred to in paragraph (A) of this article shall begin from the date of entry into force of these rules.
