The JSC announced today its participation in the eighth edition of World Investor Week (WIW2024), which will take place in the last week of November, in cooperation with the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). This participation aims to raise investor awareness regarding issues related to securities investment, with a focus this year on technology and digital finance, crypto assets, sustainable finance, and building investor resilience and strength in the face of new risks and challenges.
In addition to disseminating key messages that support investor education, financial literacy, and enhanced investor protection, this year's campaign also aims to strengthen cooperation among IOSCO members and facilitate the exchange of expertise on the campaign's key themes. The campaign covers areas aimed at raising awareness about common issues affecting investors worldwide, focusing on three key themes: technology and digital finance, crypto assets, and sustainable finance, in addition to topics such as fraud prevention, investor resilience, and investment fundamentals.
It is worth noting that the international events, through virtual seminars, discussed new issues and challenges created by technological advancements and the increasing use of artificial intelligence, in order to achieve the three main objectives of enhancing investor protection, ensuring fair and efficient markets, and promoting financial stability by mitigating systemic risks.
The World Investor Week (WIW) is an annual, week-long global campaign launched by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in collaboration with its member regulatory bodies to raise awareness of the importance of investor education and protection. Participating regulatory bodies are free to choose the week that best suits them to conduct the campaign during October or November each year.
