Jordan Securities Commission Receives Delegation from Iraqi Securities Commission

To continue cooperation with Arab and international monitoring entities, Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) received a delegation from the Iraqi Securities Commission (ISC) chaired by Dr Abed Al-Razaq Al- Sa’di.
The meeting that was attended by Members of the Board of Commissioners of the JSC, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Securities Depository Center (SDC) and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the CEO of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), discussed mutual cooperation in the fields of regulating and developing the Jordanian and the Iraqi capital markets in a manner that is useful for both brotherly countries and their investors.
The Iraqi delegation reviewed the experience of the Jordan capital market in governing its activities through regulations and instructions, its latest legislations and its recent amendments. Furthermore, the delegation visited the ASE and the SDC to review procedures and electronic systems used in these institutions.
Chairman of the Commission HE Mr Mohammed Saleh Hourani said the visit is a continuation of mutual cooperation between our brotherly countries in all fields including capital markets that started in 2004 when the JSC provided the Iraqi Securities Commission with the needed technical assistance and experience at the time of its establishment that included preparing the law, procedures and legislations regulating the Iraqi capital market institutions as well as training their staff in the Jordan capital market institutions.
Dr Al- Sa’di, Chairman of the Iraqi Securities Commission praised ties between the two friendly countries and the continuous assistance and support the JSC provides to the Iraqi capital market institutions, and its unique experience in regulating the market. Moreover, Dr Al-Sa’di stressed on the importance to continuously benefit from this experience to develop the Iraqi capital market institutions and to train the staff, since the coming stage will witness further mutual cooperation and coordination between both parties.
